Prince Dining Room
Prince Dining Room is the jewel of St Kilda's icon, the Prince Of Wales Hotel. After an extensive transformation of the space (by IF Architecture), 'PDR' fell under the creative vision of Mitch Orr and head chef Ben Parkinson with an energetic approach to hyper-fresh, expressive food & beverage.
There's a fair bit of history behind the Prince Dining Room location... 155 years to be exact. Through the ages, the infamous Prince Of Wales Hotel has gone through many make-overs and glow-ups behind the Art Deco facade.
Susu Studio was tasked with executing a dynamic visual
identity that establishes PDR as a destination once more. So in true, unapologetic St Kilda style; we embraced the oddities
of the area, nodded to the venue’s constant re-invention and
juxtaposed the clash of ‘high’ and ‘low’ brow. Expressed through
hand-painted and collaged lettering, offset by abstract chalk
artworks and rounded out by stripped-back typography, it’s a
little nostalgia, a little fine art, a little punk.
